SYMBIOZA STUDIO 1
CANCELLATION POLICY
Symbioza Studio 1 is our clinical space at 66A Farmer Street, North Perth — home to remedial massage, Clinical Pilates 1:1 and semi-private Clinical Pilates. Every appointment is time set aside for you and prepared for you, and once it is booked that time is no longer available to anyone else. This policy explains what happens when you need to change or cancel.
What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to all Symbioza Studio 1 appointments — remedial massage, Clinical Pilates 1:1 and semi-private Clinical Pilates.
It sits alongside the Symbioza Studio 1 Terms & Conditions, where our booking, package and payment terms are set out, and the registration and consent form you complete before your first appointment.
It does not apply to Symbioza Studio 2 group classes, workshops or events, which run under their own separate cancellation policy.
Giving Notice
Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or move an appointment. You can do this through your appointment reminder or confirmation, or by contacting us directly on 0487 253 954 or at hello@symbioza.com.au.
Cancel with more than 24 hours' notice and there is no charge. If your appointment was booked against a 10-session package, that session stays on your package.
Cancelling Late, or Not Attending
A cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice, or not attending an appointment, is charged at 100% of the appointment fee. If your appointment was booked against a 10-session package, that session is deducted from your package.
We know this is firmer than many places. The reason is that a Studio 1 appointment is one person's time, reserved and prepared for you specifically. Unlike a group class, it cannot be offered to someone else at short notice, so a late cancellation means that time is simply lost.
If You Are Unwell
If you are unwell, please tell us as early as you can. We would always rather you rested and rebooked than attended a hands-on treatment while sick, and we do not want this policy to be the reason anyone comes in when they should not.
Genuine illness and genuine emergencies are considered individually. Please contact us as soon as you know, rather than after the appointment has passed.
Arriving Late
Appointments end at their scheduled finishing time and cannot be extended, as the room and the day are booked around them. If you arrive late, your appointment will run for the time remaining and the full fee applies.
Appointments We Cancel
If Symbioza needs to cancel or move your appointment — for illness, an emergency, or something else unavoidable — there is no charge to you. Any session deducted from a package is returned to it, and we will find you another time as soon as we can.
Paying a Cancellation Fee
Where a cancellation fee applies and your appointment was not booked against a package, the fee is invoiced separately and is payable before your next appointment.
A cancellation fee is a charge for reserved time, not for a treatment. It is not a health service, it cannot be claimed against private health insurance, and no provider receipt is issued for it.
Updates to This Policy
This policy applies to your bookings from the date you accept it, and remains in effect unless Symbioza issues an updated version. The current version is always the one provided with your booking confirmation.
SYMBIOZA STUDIO 1
TERMS & CONDITIONS
Symbioza Studio 1 is our clinical space at 66A Farmer Street, North Perth — home to remedial massage, Clinical Pilates 1:1 and semi-private Clinical Pilates. These terms set out how bookings, packages and payments work, so that you know where you stand before your first appointment.
Who These Terms Are With
These terms are an agreement between you and Anna Szymanska trading as Symbioza (ABN 18 692 545 435) (“Symbioza”, “we”, “us”), of 66A Farmer Street, North Perth WA. By booking an appointment with Symbioza Studio 1, you agree to them.
What These Terms Cover
These terms apply to all Symbioza Studio 1 appointments — remedial massage, Clinical Pilates 1:1 and semi-private Clinical Pilates.
They sit alongside the Symbioza Studio 1 Cancellation Policy, which sets out our notice period and what happens when an appointment is missed, and the registration and consent form you complete before your first appointment. Together these form our agreement with you.
These terms are specific to Symbioza Studio 1. Symbioza Studio 2's group classes, workshops and events run under their own separate terms.
About Your Practitioner
Your practitioner at Symbioza Studio 1 is Anna Szymanska, a remedial massage therapist and Pilates instructor, and a member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia. Anna's qualifications are set out on our website and are available on request at the studio.
Symbioza Studio 1 provides remedial massage and Pilates instruction. These are not medical or allied health services — they are not physiotherapy, osteopathy or chiropractic — and they do not replace advice, diagnosis or treatment from a medical practitioner. If you have a health concern, please speak with your doctor.
Bookings
Appointments are booked through our booking system, by phone on 0487 253 954, or by email at hello@symbioza.com.au.
Before your first appointment you will be asked to complete a registration and consent form covering your health history and your consent to treatment. This can be sent to you to complete beforehand, or completed in person when you arrive. Your first appointment cannot go ahead until it is complete.
You are responsible for keeping the health information on that form current, and for telling your practitioner before each appointment about any change to your health, injuries or medications.
Appointment Times & Arriving Late
Appointments begin and end at their scheduled times. If you arrive late, your appointment will run for the time remaining rather than being extended, as the room and the day are booked around it, and the full fee applies.
Cancellations & No-Shows
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or move an appointment. A cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice, or not attending, is charged at 100% of the appointment fee.
Our full cancellation terms, including how this works with packages and what happens if you are unwell, are set out in the Symbioza Studio 1 Cancellation Policy.
Session Packages
We offer 10-session packages for remedial massage, Clinical Pilates 1:1 and semi-private Clinical Pilates.
Packages are valid for 10 weeks from the date of purchase. They are designed around attending once a week, which is where this work does its best over time.
A package applies to the service it was purchased for and cannot be used for a different service. Packages are personal to the purchaser and cannot be transferred or shared with another person. They are not extendable beyond their validity period, except where required by law.
Any sessions unused when a package expires are forfeited.
Pricing & Payment
Current prices are available at the studio, on our website and on request. Prices are those in effect at the time of your appointment or package purchase.
Payment for an appointment is taken at the end of your session. Packages are paid for in full at the time of purchase.
Private Health Insurance
Rebates may be available for remedial massage, where your level of cover includes it and your fund recognises your practitioner. A receipt for claiming is provided after your appointment.
Clinical Pilates, whether 1:1 or semi-private, is not claimable on private health insurance.
Cancellation fees are a charge for reserved time rather than for a treatment, and are not claimable.
Whether a rebate is paid, and how much, is a matter between you and your fund. Please check your level of cover with them directly.
Refunds
Packages are non-refundable once purchased, including for change of mind. This does not affect any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law, including statutory guarantees that cannot be excluded by these terms.
Age & Minors
We treat clients under 18 with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, given through the registration and consent form. A parent or legal guardian must remain present in the room for the whole of the appointment.
Studio Conduct & Right to Refuse
Symbioza may decline to begin, may end, or may decline to rebook an appointment where continuing would present a safety risk to you or to your practitioner, where you appear unwell or under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or where behaviour towards your practitioner is inappropriate, disrespectful or unsafe. Where an appointment is ended on these grounds, the full fee applies.
You may stop or change your treatment at any time, as set out in your consent form. This works both ways, and your comfort and your practitioner's safety matter equally to us.
Personal Belongings
Symbioza is not responsible for loss, theft or damage to personal belongings brought into the studio, or for any parking fines incurred while attending, except to the extent that the loss or damage is caused by our negligence.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always the one published on our website.
Where we update these terms, the updated version applies to bookings and purchases you make after the update. A package you have already purchased remains subject to the terms in force at the time you bought it.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
General
These terms, together with the Symbioza Studio 1 Cancellation Policy and the registration and consent form, form the entire agreement between you and Symbioza regarding Symbioza Studio 1 appointments, and replace any prior understanding.
If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in full force. If Symbioza does not enforce any part of these terms on one occasion, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.
Questions
If anything in these terms is unclear, please ask before booking — hello@symbioza.com.au or 0487 253 954.
